important change for outposts
In an effort to become environmentally friendly, all units should bring their own “mess kits,” cups, and eating utensils to each Outpost Program. Wash and rinse water will be available at each program area.
important dates
We will update this as we get closer to camp.
February 1st: $50 deposit per person is due NOW.
April 1st: All summer camp payments are due by April 1st. Please talk with our Treasurer, Dennis Walsh, if you need to make special arrangements.
May TBD: Parent Meeting – 1st year and all other Scout parents welcome – 7:45 p.m. during the normal Troop meeting.
May TBD: meeting along with the eligibility form and the prerequisites list. This is your chance to ask questions.
May 8: Merit Badge selection information is handed out at the Monday meeting. An email is sent to the troop.
May 22: Merit Badge selection forms are due at this Troop Meeting. First year Scouts need to turn in their forms as well. Make alternative arrangements if you are unable to attend this meeting so we have time to get everyone registered for the merit badge classes they want.
June TBD: Physicals, bank money, medications, lock combinations, etc are due at Troop Meeting. We will be collecting all of the paperwork and medications with instructions in advance to make departing for camp a lot easier. It is important that you come to this meeting if you have anything left to turn-in.
June 13: Leave for camp from the church parking lot at 9:30 a.m. Come early to check-in, about 8:30 a.m., have your camp box inspected and be part of the group picture.
June 18: Visitor’s Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The Troop will provide the main dish and paper goods. Please bring side dishes and/or desserts for all to share (preferably homemade as we will be tired of institutional food). We will have some drinks but you may want to bring something for you as I am sure it will be another hot day.
Wear closed toe shoes as everything is uneven gravel and dirt. Bring camp chairs, sun screen and water bottles.
June 22: Come home from summer camp. Meet at the church parking lot to pickup your Scout. We hope to be back no later than Noon. Please be early so your Scout doesn’t have to wait around.
STEM activities
I would venture to say that we will have another program of awesome STEM activities at summer camp. Mr. Forson has done a great job of providing fun and challenging events over the last few years.

mailing address
You may send letters and non-melting care packages to your Scouts and adults while they are at camp. Remember that it takes about 4-5 days for mail to get there. You may want to send your first letter/package before we leave for camp so it is shows up not long after we get there. It also means that if you send it 4-5 days before we are finished with camp, it won’t ever get to us.
