2015 Summer Camp Summary

Hello Troop 459,

We wanted to thank everyone for all the help during the Summer Camp and those that helped get us ready; it was a great camp session.

The Scouts endured the rain (a lot of it!) and heat, but in the end, they all seemed to enjoy the time at the H Roe Bartle Scout Reservation.

The old adage that says it takes a village to raise a child, well that sure rang true this year. We all worked together to get thru the camp session. We had 45 youth in our camp. In that group, we had 3 rank advancements, 1 paint elevation, 6 Warriors, 11 Braves and 7 Foxmen in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. For the adults, we had 4 that became Honorary Warriors and 1 Honored Women in the Tribe. With this many in Mic-O-Say, it says a lot about the boys (and their family’s) commitment to Scouting.

The whole camp worked hard and had fun. We logged many hours of community service putting down gravel, cleaning up tall grass and in general cleaning up the camp. The fun side was skits, eating at the dining hall J and the camp fire in Union where Mr. Ratterman led us all in camp fire songs.

Chuck and I enjoyed our time as summer camp Scout Masters. We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable summer.

We will see everyone in August.
