UNIFORM POLICY FOR TROOP 459

The following policy was developed by the Patrol Leader’s Council, in conjunction with the Troop Adult Committee and will be enforced for every scout desiring advancement within the troop.  Much time has gone into this policy as it has been devised, revised, and improvised with the intent to create a policy that promotes the best for Troop 459.

REGULAR SCOUT MEETINGS:

The Uniform required for regular scout meetings will depend on the time of the year.  During the “Winter Season”, Class ”A” Uniform will be worn at all meetings.  During the “Summer Season”, a Troop 459 dress we will call Class ”B” Uniform will be worn.

What’s the difference in the uniforms?

Class “A” Includes:

Scout Shirt

Scout Pants & Belt

or

( Scout Shorts with Belt & Scout Socks )

Neckerchief & Slide

Scout Adornments:

(Mic-O-Say, OA, Coup Beads, Etc.)

 Class “B” Includes:

Scout Shirt or any Scout related T-Shirt

Scout Shorts with Belt & Scout Socks

(Can substitute khaki shorts with white socks— NO PATTERNED SHORTS)

Scout Adornments:

(Mic-O-Say, OA, Coup Beads, Etc.)

The start of the Summer and Winter seasons will be determined by the Troop Scoutmaster.

Typically, the Winter Season will run from October thru April.

TRAVEL TO AND FROM CAMPOUTS

& HIGH ADVENTURE TRIPS & SUMMER CAMP

Uniform requirement for travel to and from any of these activities will always be a Class “A” Uniform, unless advised otherwise prior to departure.

BOARDS OF REVIEW AND COURTS OF HONOR:

A full scout uniform must be worn at all courts of honor and boards of review.  A full uniform includes:  CLASS ‘A’ UNIFORM, PLUS SASH, COUP BEADS AND OA SASH.  A scout will not be allowed to participate in a board of review without a full uniform, including rank patches.  The board of review would be rescheduled at such a time as the scout could be in full uniform.

Wearing of proper uniforms will be record weekly along with attendance.  Patrols who follow this policy will be rewarded.  The rewards will be established by the Troop 459 Committee for patrols who best observe this dress code.

NOTE:

For appropriate placement for all patches, rank advancements, etc. on both the scout shirt and scout sash, please refer to the inside front and back covers of the Official Scout Handbook.
