Darrel Gibson, COR, presented the current roster of Troop
members both youth and adult. Those present identified those on
the roster that no longer participate in the Troop and those
whose participation is questionable. Darrel agreed to contact
the questionable participants in order to determine if they wish
to continue with the Troop. The roster will later be reviewed
with Dennis Walsh, Treasurer to determine who among the
non-participants and questionable have paid dues. |

SAC Campout, 12/1-2, Scorpions:
Bob Rosevear has been in contact with the SAC museum in
Nebraska. We have several options for the campout. If we want
to sleep in the bombers at the regular rate of $22/boy, we have
to be at the museum by 7:00 pm on Friday, November 30. If they
put on a special event for us on Saturday night, it will cost
$47/boy. The boys have an opportunity to earn the aviation or
other merit badge if we overnight at the museum. We could also
just do a tour at 1:00-2:30 pm ($2/boy, $6/adult) and then camp
in the state park. The state park has several options for
camping. They allow two tents per camping spot. This would
cost about $13/boy and $4/car. In January it is likely to be
quite cold in Nebraska. We can brave the weather or use the
state park’s cabins at a higher rate of $32/person.
So, as information to all 459, the
trip is planned for the weekend of December 1st and 2nd. Meet
at Colonial South at 7:00 Saturday. Approximately 3 1/2 hour
trip to Omaha. Lunch in the parking lot (weather permitting),
and begin a 1 1/2 hour tour of the SAC Museum. Camping at
Eugene T. Mahoney State Park next door to the SAC Museum in
Little Creek Campground. Mahoney also has an activity center
with ice skating, rock climbing, etc. If scouts are interested,
there is a small cost to do this and the scouts should bring
some extra money. All in all, the total cost per boy for SAC
museum and camping would be about $6.00, and each dad about
$10.00. We need a fairly firm sign up on Monday November 19, so
we can decide on number of boys and dads driving. |

Cosmosphere Campout, 1/18-20/08, Raccoons:
The Cosmosphere’s program for scouts starts early in the morning
on Saturday and continues until evening. They provide an
abundance of activities that include a tour of the museum,
launching rockets, IMAX, planetarium, science demonstrations,
and lunch. The scouts can earn either the Space Exploration or
Aviation merit badges. Cost is $40/scout, $20/adult. Ed
Buckner has not yet made camping arrangements. It might be
possible to arrange a dormitory at the state fairgrounds. |
